Diy Baby Sling

To make a DIY baby sling, you will need:

• 2.25 yards of fabric
• 2 sling rings
• A sewing machine
• Thread
• Pins
• Iron

Instructions:

1. Cut the fabric to be 28 inches wide and 2.25 yards long.
2. Lay the fabric with the patterned side facing down.
3. Fold the longer side one-quarter inch inward and iron the fold.
4. Fold another half inch inward and iron again.
5. Pin these folds to prepare them for sewing.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 with the shorter sides.
7. Sew the sides of the fabric together, leaving a 6-inch gap at the top.
8. Turn the sling right side out through the gap.
9. Close the gap with a needle and thread.
10. Thread the sling rings through the top of the sling, making sure that the rings are facing opposite directions.
11. Sew the sling rings in place, reinforcing the stitching with several rows of backstitching.

To use the baby sling:

1. Place the sling over one shoulder, with the sling rings resting on your other shoulder.
2. Position the sling so that the center of the sling is centered over your chest.
3. Place your baby in the sling, with their bottom resting in the center of the sling.
4. Cross the sling fabric under your baby’s bottom and up over their back.
5. Thread the sling fabric through the sling rings and pull it tight.
6. Adjust the sling so that your baby is supported comfortably and securely.

Safety tips:

• Always supervise your baby when they are in the baby sling.
• Make sure that the sling is tight enough to support your baby’s weight, but not so tight that it restricts their breathing.
• Check the sling regularly for signs of wear and tear.
