Here is a simple guide to DIY candle making:

1. Gather your supplies. You will need:

   • Wicks: Choose wicks that are the correct size for your containers.
   • Containers: Clean, empty jars or other containers can be used.
   • Fragrance oil: Essential oils or fragrance oils can be added to scent your candles.
   • Double boiler: This is used to melt the wax safely.
   • Skewers or popsicle sticks: These can be used to hold the wicks in place.

2. Prepare your containers. Make sure that your containers are clean and dry. You may also want to wick the containers before you pour the wax. This involves placing a wick in the center of each container and securing it with a wick holder or by tying it to a skewer or popsicle stick that rests across the top of the container.

3. Melt the wax. Place the wax in the double boiler and heat it over medium heat. Stir the wax occasionally until it is completely melted.

4. Add the fragrance oil. Once the wax is melted, add a few drops of fragrance oil to each container. Stir the wax to distribute the fragrance oil evenly.

5. Pour the wax. Carefully pour the melted wax into the prepared containers. Leave about 1/2 inch of space at the top of each container.

6. Center the wicks. Use the skewers or popsicle sticks to center the wicks in the containers.

7. Let the candles cool and harden. This can take several hours.

8. Trim the wicks. Once the candles have cooled and hardened, trim the wicks to about 1/4 inch long.
