DIY t-shirt blanket tutorial:
- Gather your supplies: t-shirts, scissors, sewing machine, thread, batting, and backing fabric.
- Cut your t-shirts into squares. A good size is 12 inches by 12 inches, but you can make them larger or smaller depending on your preference.
- Arrange your t-shirt squares in a pleasing pattern. You can use all of the same color, or mix and match different colors and designs.
- Sew your t-shirt squares together, one row at a time. Be sure to leave a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
- Once you have sewn all of the rows together, press the seams flat.
- Layer your quilt top with batting and backing fabric.
- Pin the layers together and sew around the edges, leaving a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
- Trim any excess fabric and turn the quilt right side out.
- Sew a binding around the edges of the quilt to finish it off.
Enjoy your new t-shirt blanket!
