To make a live edge table, you will need a live edge slab, wood glue, C-channel, threaded inserts, bolts, a metal base, sanding pads (40-220 grit recommended), and the finish of your choice.
First, remove any rough bark from the live edge slab using a hammer and chisel. Then, sand the slab with 40-220 grit sandpaper, starting with coarser grits and working your way up to finer grits to achieve a smooth finish.
Next, mark the desired location of the table legs on the underside of the slab. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations, and then insert threaded inserts into the holes.
Attach the C-channel to the underside of the slab using wood glue and screws. The C-channel will provide support for the table legs.
Finally, attach the metal base to the C-channel using bolts. Apply the finish of your choice to the table, and enjoy your new live edge table!
