To make a DIY seat cushion, you will need:
- Fabric (enough to cover the seat of your chair, plus 1-2 inches for seam allowances)
- Foam (cut to the size of your chair seat)
- Zipper (optional)
- Sewing machine and thread
- Pins
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Measure the seat of your chair and cut two pieces of fabric to that size.
- If you are using a zipper, sew it into one of the fabric pieces, leaving a 1-inch opening at the end.
- Place the foam on top of one of the fabric pieces, with the right sides facing each other.
- Pin the fabric pieces together around the edges, leaving a 1-inch opening at the end.
- Sew the fabric pieces together, using a 1/2-inch seam allowance.
- Turn the cushion right side out and insert the foam.
- Sew the opening closed.
- If you want, you can add ties or buttons to the cushion to keep it in place.
