DIY Lazy Susan
A lazy Susan is a rotating tray that makes it easy to access items that are stored on it. It is a popular addition to kitchens, dining rooms, and other spaces where people gather. Lazy Susans can be purchased, but they can also be easily made at home using a few simple materials.
To make a DIY lazy Susan, you will need:
- A circular piece of wood, plastic, or other material for the top
- A circular piece of wood, plastic, or other material for the bottom
- A turntable hardware kit
- Glue
- Sandpaper
- A saw
- A drill
Instructions:
- Cut the top and bottom pieces of your lazy Susan to the desired size.
- Sand the edges of the top and bottom pieces until they are smooth.
- Pre-drill holes for the turntable hardware in the top and bottom pieces.
- Attach the turntable hardware to the top and bottom pieces according to the instructions that came with the kit.
- Glue the top and bottom pieces together.
- Allow the glue to dry completely.
- Add self-adhesive feet to the bottom of the lazy Susan (optional).
Your DIY lazy Susan is now complete and ready to use!
Tips:
- You can use any type of wood, plastic, or other material for your lazy Susan, but be sure to choose a material that is strong and durable.
- If you are using a softwood, such as pine, you may want to seal the wood with a polyurethane finish to prevent it from staining.
- You can also add a decorative finish to your lazy Susan, such as painting it or staining it.
- If you are using a heavy turntable hardware kit, you may want to add additional support to the bottom of your lazy Susan, such as a cross brace.
