To make easy DIY floating shelves, you will need:
- Wood for the shelves and cleats
- Wood glue
- Screws
- Wall anchors (if needed)
- Stud finder (if needed)
- Level
- Drill
- Saw
- Sander
Instructions:
- Cut the wood for the shelves and cleats to size.
- Sand the edges of the wood.
- Apply wood glue to the end of each cleat and then drive screws through the cleat and into each shelf.
- Mark the location of the cleats on the wall.
- Use a stud finder to locate studs in the wall. If you cannot screw the cleats into studs, use wall anchors.
- Screw the cleats to the wall.
- Place the shelves on the cleats and adjust the level until they are even.
- Screw the shelves to the cleats.
