Tree Costume DIY

Materials:

• Brown pants and shirt
• Green felt
• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• Sponge brush
• Acrylic paint in brown, gray, and black
• Ivy vines (optional)
• Wooden birds (optional)
• Pipe cleaners (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cut out a variety of leaf shapes from the green felt.
2. Hot glue the leaves to the shirt and pants in a random pattern.
3. If desired, sponge paint the shirt and pants with brown, gray, and black paint to create a bark-like texture.
4. If desired, hot glue ivy vines to the pants.
5. To make a bird’s nest, wrap a pipe cleaner around a few wooden birds and twist the ends together to secure.
6. Hot glue the bird’s nest to the hat or head.

Tips:

• For a more realistic tree costume, use different shades of green felt for the leaves.
• You can also add other natural elements to your costume, such as twigs, acorns, or pine cones.
• If you’re making a costume for a child, be sure to use non-toxic glue.

Variations:

• For a Christmas tree costume, add ornaments and tinsel to the leaves.
• For a cherry blossom tree costume, use light pink felt for the leaves.
• For a weeping willow tree costume, cut the felt leaves into long, thin strips.
