A knight costume is a classic Halloween costume that can be made easily at home. There are two ways to make a knight costume: with sewing or without sewing.

No-sew knight costume:

  1. Find a long-sleeved black shirt and black pants.
  2. Cut a rectangle out of a piece of silver fabric. This will be your chest plate.
  3. Cut two triangles out of a piece of silver fabric. These will be your gauntlets.
  4. Glue the chest plate to the front of the shirt.
  5. Glue the gauntlets to the sleeves of the shirt.
  6. Cut a hole in the center of a piece of cardboard. This will be your helmet.
  7. Spray paint the helmet silver.
  8. Glue the helmet to your head.

Sewn knight costume:

  1. Find a pattern for a tunic and a pair of pants.
  2. Cut out the pieces of fabric from the pattern.
  3. Sew the pieces of fabric together.
  4. Embroider a knight’s emblem on the chest of the tunic.
  5. Cut out two pieces of cardboard for the gauntlets.
  6. Cover the cardboard gauntlets with silver fabric.
  7. Cut a hole in the center of a piece of cardboard. This will be your helmet.
  8. Cover the cardboard helmet with silver fabric.

Once you have made your knight costume, you can complete the look with a sword and shield. You can also add a chainmail vest or cape.
