Diy Window Seat Cushion

To make a DIY window seat cushion, you will need:

  • Fabric
  • Upholstery foam
  • Plywood
  • Zipper (optional)
  • Thread
  • Sewing machine (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Measure your window seat space.
  2. Cut the plywood to the same size.
  3. Cut the upholstery foam to the same size.
  4. Cut the fabric to the following dimensions:
    • Width: 6 inches wider than the plywood on all sides
    • Length: 6 inches longer than the plywood on all sides
  5. Place the foam on top of the plywood.
  6. Place the fabric on top of the foam, with the right side facing down.
  7. Fold the edges of the fabric under the plywood and staple them in place.
  8. If desired, sew a zipper into the back of the cushion cover to make it easier to remove and wash.
  9. Place the cushion on your window seat and enjoy!

Tips:

  • For a more professional look, you can use piping or trim around the edges of the cushion.
  • If your window seat is a unique shape, you can use cardboard to make a template for the plywood and fabric.
  • If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can hand sew the cushion cover together.
