To make a DIY upholstered headboard, you will need:

  • Plywood
  • 1-inch foam
  • Batting
  • Fabric
  • Nailhead trim (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the plywood to the desired size and shape of your headboard.
  2. Attach the foam to the plywood using spray adhesive or staples.
  3. Cover the foam with batting and staple it in place.
  4. Center the fabric over the headboard and staple it in place, starting at the center top and working your way down the sides and bottom.
  5. Fold the excess fabric at the corners neatly and staple it in place.
  6. Add nailhead trim (optional) around the edges of the headboard.

Once you are finished, attach your headboard to the wall behind your bed.

Here is a simplified version:

  1. Cut plywood to desired size and shape.
  2. Attach foam to plywood.
  3. Cover foam with batting and staple.
  4. Center fabric over headboard and staple, starting at center top.
  5. Fold excess fabric neatly and staple at corners.
  6. Add nailhead trim (optional).
