Diy Tulle Tutu

To make a DIY tulle tutu, you will need:

• Tulle fabric (any color or combination of colors)
• Elastic band (width will depend on desired thickness of waistband)
• Scissors
• Measuring tape
• Needle and thread (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cut the tulle into strips. The width of the strips will determine how fluffy the tutu is. For a fuller skirt, use wider strips. For a less fluffy skirt, use thinner strips. The length of the strips should be twice the desired length of the tutu.
2. Fold the elastic band to your child’s waist measurement. Pin the ends together and sew them together to form a loop.
3. Attach the tulle strips to the elastic band. There are two ways to do this:
   • No-sew method: Fold the tulle strip in half and place the folded edge over the elastic band. Pull both ends of the tulle strip through the loop and tighten. Repeat with all of the tulle strips.
   • Sewing method: Fold the tulle strip in half and place the folded edge over the elastic band. Sew the tulle strip to the elastic band using a straight stitch. Repeat with all of the tulle strips.
4. Once all of the tulle strips have been attached to the elastic band, trim any uneven ends.
5. Your DIY tulle tutu is now complete!

Tips:

• For a fuller skirt, use more layers of tulle.
• To create a tutu with different colors, alternate between the different colors of tulle as you attach them to the elastic band.
• To make a tutu for an adult, simply use a larger size of elastic band and cut longer tulle strips.
• If you are sewing the tulle strips to the elastic band, be careful not to sew too tightly, as this will make the tutu stiff.
• Once the tutu is complete, you can fluff it up by gently pulling on the tulle strips.
