To make a DIY sunburst mirror, you will need:
- Wood dowels (about 20, each 1/8″ x 36″)
- Styrofoam disc
- Spray paint
- 5″ mirror
- Glass candle holder
- Liquid nails
- Small round hook
Instructions:
- Mark 1/2″ from the end on each dowel.
- Place a ring of glue around the seam between the dowels and foam disc on both sides.
- Use liquid nails to glue the glass candle holder to the foam disc on both sides.
- Spray paint the entire thing with two coats on each side.
- Use hot glue to glue the mirror onto the glass candle holder.
- Bend your small hook by 90 degrees and glue the end into the back of the styrofoam disc.
- Hang on a nail and enjoy!
Tips:
- You can use any type of wood dowels you like, but I recommend using a lightweight wood like pine or poplar.
- If you want a larger mirror, you can use more dowels and a larger styrofoam disc.
- You can also get creative with the paint color and style. For a more rustic look, try using a distressed paint finish. For a more modern look, try using a metallic paint or a high gloss finish.
- Be sure to use a strong glue to attach the mirror to the candle holder. You don’t want it to fall off and break!
