- 2 inch star bit wood screws (1 pound)
- 3 inch star bit wood screws (1/2 pound)
- 1/8 inch drill bit
- 1 1/4 inch tri fluted wood boring bit
Instructions:
- Cut the 8-foot 2x4s in half to create 4 pieces at 4 feet long.
- Cut the 45-degree pieces used for the bottom corners.
- Assemble the frame of the rack using the 3×5 flat steel ties and 1/2x2x2 90 degree steel ties.
- Attach the crossbar to the top of the frame using the 2 inch star bit wood screws.
- Attach the safety bars to the frame using the 3 inch star bit wood screws.
- Test the rack out by loading it with weight.
Once you have built and tested your DIY squat rack, you are ready to start squatting!
