Diy Roach Trap

Simple DIY Roach Trap

Materials:

• 2-liter soda bottle
• Petroleum jelly
• Bait (beer, peanut butter, etc.)
• Masking tape or fabric

Instructions:

1. Cut the top off of the soda bottle, about where it starts to curve.
2. Rub petroleum jelly around the inside of the top half of the bottle, including the bottleneck.
3. Place some bait at the bottom of the bottle.
4. Invert the top half of the bottle and place it inside the bottom half, like a funnel.
5. Tape the edges together to keep the top from falling in.
6. Place the trap in areas where you have seen cockroaches, such as under sinks, in corners, and behind cabinets.
7. Check the trap regularly and dispose of any cockroaches you catch.

Tips:

• Use a sturdy soda bottle so that the cockroaches can’t knock it over.
• Make sure the petroleum jelly is applied evenly on the inside of the top half of the bottle.
• Choose a bait that is attractive to cockroaches, such as beer, peanut butter, or bacon.
• Place the trap in dark, secluded areas where cockroaches are likely to be found.
• Empty and reset the trap regularly to prevent the bait from molding.

Additional notes:

• You can also use a glass jar instead of a soda bottle. Just make sure the jar is tall enough and the bait is placed at the bottom so that the cockroaches can’t reach it without climbing up the sides.
• If you don’t have petroleum jelly, you can use cooking spray or vegetable oil. However, these will not be as effective at preventing the cockroaches from escaping.
• You can also add a ramp to the outside of the trap to make it easier for the cockroaches to climb in. Simply use a piece of cardboard or wood and tape it to the side of the trap.
