DIY recessed lighting is a great way to improve the look and functionality of your home. It is a relatively straightforward project that can be done with basic tools and skills.

To install recessed lighting, you will need:

Steps:

1. Turn off the power to the circuit where you will be installing the lights.
2. Use a stud finder to mark the locations of the joists in the ceiling.

4. Use a hole saw to cut a hole in the ceiling at each marked location.
5. Feed the non-metallic cable through the holes and into the junction boxes of the light fixtures.
6. Strip the insulation from the ends of the cables and connect them to the light fixtures using wire connectors.
7. Push the light fixtures into the holes in the ceiling and secure them in place with the spring clips.
8. Turn on the power to the circuit and test the lights.

• If you do not have attic access, you can fish the cables through the ceiling using a fish tape.

• Make sure that the light fixtures are rated for the type of insulation in your attic.
