Raised planter boxes are a great way to garden, especially if you have poor soil or limited space. They are easy to build and can be made to any size or shape. Plus, they can be raised to any height, making them easier to work with, especially if you have back problems.
To build a raised planter box, you will need:
- Wood for the frame and sides (cedar is a good choice because it is resistant to rot)
- Hardware (nails, screws, etc.)
- Landscaping fabric
- Soil and plants
Instructions:
- Cut the wood for the frame and sides to size.
- Assemble the frame using nails or screws.
- Attach the landscaping fabric to the inside of the frame.
- Fill the planter box with soil and plants.
Tips:
- If you are building a large planter box, you may want to add cross braces to the frame for extra support.
- You can also drill drainage holes in the bottom of the planter box to help prevent root rot.
- If you are using untreated wood, be sure to seal it with a weatherproof finish.
