
To build a DIY pull up bar in your garage, you will need:
- Two pieces of 3/4 inch pipe, each 48 inches long
- Four 90 degree elbows
- Two floor flanges
- Eight 1/4 inch by 2 inch flat head screws
- Eight 3/8 inch by 5 1/2 inch lag screws
Instructions:
- Cut the 2×4 stud to 68 inches with a 45-degree cut at each end.
- Mark every 16 inches on the 2×4 to find the ceiling joists.
- Drill a pilot hole at each mark and then screw the 2×4 to the ceiling joists using the lag screws.
- Screw the floor flanges to the ends of the 2×4.
- Screw the 48-inch pipes to the floor flanges.
- Screw the 90-degree elbows to the ends of the 48-inch pipes.
Your pull-up bar is now complete! You can test it out by hanging from it and doing a few pull-ups.
