To make a DIY pot holder, you will need:
- Fabric (cotton is a good choice)
- Insulating material (such as batting or Insul-Bright)
- Sewing machine and supplies
- Optional: binding fabric
Instructions:
- Cut two pieces of fabric and two pieces of insulating material to the same size.
- Place the two pieces of fabric right sides together and sew around the edges, leaving a small opening for turning.
- Turn the pot holder right side out and stuff it with the insulating material.
- Sew up the opening.
- If desired, sew binding fabric around the edges of the pot holder.
Tips:
- For a thicker pot holder, use multiple layers of insulating material.
- To make a pot holder with a loop for hanging, cut a strip of fabric and fold it in half lengthwise. Sew the long edge and turn it right side out. Insert the loop into the pot holder between the layers of fabric and sew it in place.
- Use your imagination and creativity to choose fabric and designs that match your kitchen décor.
