
DIY Popcorn Costume
Materials:
- Yellow and white tissue paper
- Red and white duct tape
- Red shirt or sweatshirt
- Red leggings or sweatpants
- Two oval popcorn signs
- Plate (optional)
Instructions:
- Crumple yellow tissue paper into popcorn shapes and secure with clear hair elastics.
- Pin white popcorn kernels to a red shirt or sweatshirt.
- Add yellow popcorn kernels to fill in any gaps.
- Attach red and white duct tape stripes to red leggings or sweatpants.
- Pin popcorn signs to the front and back of the costume.
- (Optional) Carry a plate of popcorn as a prop.
Tips:
- Use different shades of yellow tissue paper to create a more realistic popcorn look.
- Vary the sizes of the popcorn kernels to add interest.
- Pin the popcorn kernels close together so there are no gaps.
- Use safety pins to attach the popcorn signs so they are secure.
- If you are using a plate of popcorn as a prop, be sure to secure it to your costume so it doesn’t fall.
