To make a DIY picture frame, you will need:
- Wood for the frame
- Miter saw or box saw
- Wood glue
- Clamps
- Nails or screws
- Measuring tape
- Pencil
- Sawtooth hanger
- Plexiglass or glass
- Mat board (optional)
- Paint or stain (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut the wood to size for the frame. The two longest pieces should be the same length, and the two shorter pieces should be the same length.
- Use a miter saw or box saw to cut miter joints at the ends of the wood pieces. This will create a seamless corner when the frame is assembled.
- Apply wood glue to the miter joints and clamp the pieces together.
- Once the glue has dried, nail or screw the frame pieces together.
- Cut a piece of plexiglass or glass to fit the inside of the frame.
- If desired, cut a piece of mat board to fit between the plexiglass or glass and the photo.
- Place the photo in the frame and secure it with the backing board.
- Attach a sawtooth hanger to the back of the frame.
- Paint or stain the frame (optional).
