To transfer a photo to canvas, you will need:
- A photo printed on inkjet paper
- A canvas
- Gel medium
- A brush
- A sponge
- Water
Instructions:
- Apply a thick layer of gel medium to the entire canvas using a brush.
- Place the photo face-down on the canvas and smooth out any air bubbles with a credit card or other smoothing tool.
- Let the canvas dry for at least 12 hours.
- Once the canvas is dry, wet the back of the photo with a sponge.
- Gently rub the back of the photo with your fingers to remove the paper.
- Continue rubbing until all of the paper is removed and the image is transferred to the canvas.
- Let the canvas dry completely.
Once the canvas is dry, you can optionally add a layer of clear coat to protect the image.
Tips:
- Use a high-quality inkjet printer to print your photo.
- Use a thick layer of gel medium to ensure that the photo transfers completely.
- Be careful not to over-rub the back of the photo, or you may damage the image.
- If you are having trouble removing the paper, you can try using a damp cloth instead of a sponge.
- You can also use this method to transfer photos to other surfaces, such as wood or metal.
