Diy Minnow Trap

To make a DIY minnow trap, you will need:

• A 2-liter soda bottle
• Sharp knife or scissors
• Stapler
• Fishing line
• Bait (bread, crackers, etc.)

Instructions:

1. Cut the top off of the soda bottle about 1/3 of the way down.
2. Poke 10 small holes around the cut edge of the bottle.
3. Poke 2 more holes about 1/2 inch below the first ones and string a 10-foot piece of fishing line through them.
4. Insert the funnel-shaped top of the bottle into the bottom of the trap, with the nozzle pointing in. Secure it to the bottom with the fishing line.
5. Place some bait in the bottom of the trap.
6. Tie the other end of the fishing line to a rock or other weight.
7. Lower the trap into the water in a spot where you have seen minnows swimming.
8. Check the trap periodically to see if you have caught any minnows.

Tips:

• Use a sharp knife or scissors to make clean cuts in the bottle.
• Be careful not to poke the holes too large, or the minnows will be able to escape.
• Use a variety of baits to attract more minnows.
• Place the trap in a spot where the water is moving slowly.
• Check the trap frequently to prevent the minnows from dying.

Once you have caught some minnows, you can use them for bait for other fish, or you can release them back into the water.
