To make DIY mercury glass, you will need:
- Glass object
- Spray bottle
- Water
- Vinegar
- Mirror finish spray paint
- Cloth or paper towel
Instructions:
- Clean the glass object thoroughly.
- In the spray bottle, mix equal parts water and vinegar.
- Spray a light coat of mirror finish spray paint onto the inside of the glass object.
- Immediately spray with the vinegar and water mixture.
- Use a cloth or paper towel to blot the glass object, removing some of the paint.
- Repeat steps 3-5 until you are happy with the results.
- Allow the glass object to dry completely before using or displaying.
Tips:
- For best results, use a mirror finish spray paint that is specifically designed for glass.
- Apply light coats of spray paint and blot immediately. This will help to create a distressed look.
- If you want a more opaque finish, apply more coats of spray paint and blot less.
- Be careful not to over-spray the glass object, as this can cause the paint to drip and run.
- Allow the glass object to dry completely between coats of spray paint and blotting.
Once your DIY mercury glass is finished, you can use it to decorate your home, make gifts, or even sell online.
