DIY large dog bed:
- Measure your dog’s length, width, and height to determine the size of bed you need.
- Cut four pieces of wood for the legs, two pieces for the front and back rails, and three pieces for the side and middle rails.
- Assemble the frame using screws and wood glue.
- Cut a piece of plywood or MDF for the base of the bed.
- Attach the base to the frame using screws.
- Cut a piece of foam or batting for the cushion.
- Cut a piece of fabric for the cover.
- Sew the cover together, leaving an opening at the bottom.
- Stuff the cushion into the cover and sew up the opening.
- Place the cushion in the bed frame.
Optional: Add a bolster pillow or two for extra comfort.
Tips:
- Use sturdy wood for the frame, such as pine or oak.
- Make sure the screws are long enough to go through the wood and into the frame.
- Use a high-quality foam or batting for the cushion.
- Choose a fabric that is durable and easy to clean.
- If you are not comfortable sewing, you can buy a pre-made cover.
