To make a DIY hula hoop, you will need:
- 3/4 inch polyethylene tubing
- 3/4 inch barb connector
- Tape (gaffer tape is recommended)
- Optional: decorations, such as beads or rice
Instructions:
- Measure the circumference of your waist. This will be the diameter of your hula hoop.
- Cut the tubing to your desired circumference.
- Heat up the end of the tube in very hot water for about 30 seconds.
- Quickly push the connector into the heated end of the tube.
- If the connector doesn’t go in easily, heat up the tube again.
- Once the connector is in place, let the tube cool completely.
- Decorate your hoop with tape or other decorations.
If you want to make a collapsible hula hoop, you will need two connectors instead of one. Simply cut the tubing in half and attach a connector to each end.
Once your hula hoop is finished, have fun using it!
