Diy Dog Booties

To make DIY dog booties, you will need:

• Fabric such as fleece, cotton, or canvas
• Durable patching fabric
• Velcro strips
• Elastic trim
• Sewing machine and supplies (optional)
• Pinking shears (optional)

Instructions:

1. Measure your dog’s paw length and width. Add about an inch of seam allowance to each measurement.
2. Cut out four boot shapes from your fabric.
3. If desired, cut out four small squares or circles from your patching fabric and pin them into place on the bottom of the boot shapes, where the paw pads will be. Sew the patches into place.
4. Fold the top edge of each boot shape down 1/2 inch and pin it in place. Sew the hem in place.
5. Cut two pieces of elastic trim for each bootie. The elastic should be snug but not too tight. Sew the elastic strips to the top of each bootie, forming a strap around the ankle.
6. If desired, sew Velcro strips to the ankle straps to make it easier to put on and take off the booties.

Once the booties are finished, let your dog try them on to make sure they fit well. You may need to adjust the size or elastic straps as needed.

Here is a simpler version without any sewing:

No-Sew Dog Booties

Materials:

• Duct tape
• Scissors

Instructions:

1. Cut a strip of duct tape that is long enough to wrap around your dog’s paw twice.
2. Wrap the duct tape around your dog’s paw, starting at the base of the toes and working your way up. Make sure the duct tape is snug but not too tight.
3. Cut off any excess duct tape.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for each paw.

Your dog’s no-sew booties are now ready to wear!
