Diy Crib Canopy

A simple DIY crib canopy can be made with a few basic materials and tools.

Materials:

  • 1 large hoop (embroidery hoop, quilting hoop, or hula hoop)
  • 2-3 yards of fabric
  • 4-6 yards of ribbon or cord
  • 1 eye hook
  • Screws and anchors (if necessary)

Tools:

  • Scissors or rotary cutter
  • Sewing machine (optional)
  • Hot glue gun (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the fabric into a large square or rectangle. The size of the fabric will depend on the size of the hoop you are using.
  2. Fold the fabric in half, then fold it in half again to create a triangle.
  3. Gather the top edge of the triangle and sew it together to create a casing.
  4. Thread the ribbon or cord through the casing and tie it closed.
  5. Attach the eye hook to the ceiling above the crib.
  6. Hang the canopy from the eye hook using the ribbon or cord.

If you are using a hula hoop, you may need to add some additional support to the canopy. You can do this by attaching a wooden dowel or metal rod to the top of the hoop.

If you are using hot glue, be careful not to burn yourself. Apply the glue to the fabric in small amounts and allow it to dry completely before hanging the canopy.
