Diy Couch Cushions

To make DIY couch cushions, you will need:

  • Fabric (enough to cover your cushions with extra seam allowance)
  • Zipper or buttons (optional)
  • Sewing machine or needle and thread
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Stuffing (foam, batting, or pillows)

Instructions:

  1. Measure your couch cushions and add 1-2 inches of seam allowance to all sides.
  2. Cut out two pieces of fabric for each cushion.
  3. If using a zipper, sew it into one long edge of one fabric piece.
  4. Pin the two fabric pieces together, right sides facing.
  5. Sew around the edges of the cushion, leaving a small gap open.
  6. Turn the cushion cover right side out.
  7. Stuff the cushion cover and sew the gap closed.
  8. Repeat steps 3-7 for each cushion.

Tips:

  • If you are using a fabric that frays easily, you may want to use a serger or pinking shears to finish the edges before sewing.
  • If you are using a zipper, make sure to leave a small gap at the end so that you can turn the cushion cover right side out.
  • If you are stuffing your cushions with foam, you may want to cut the foam to size before inserting it into the cushion cover.
  • If you are using batting or pillows to stuff your cushions, be sure to pack them in tightly so that the cushions are firm and supportive.
