Diy Cotton Candy

Diy Cotton Candy

To make DIY cotton candy, you will need:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Parchment paper
  • Two wooden spoons or chopsticks
  • A large bowl

Instructions:

  1. Line the bowl with parchment paper.
  2. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt.
  3. Heat the mixture over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the mixture reaches 320 degrees Fahrenheit on a candy thermometer.
  5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and carefully pour the sugar mixture into the prepared bowl.
  6. Dip the wooden spoons or chopsticks into the sugar mixture and twirl them quickly over the parchment paper.
  7. Continue twirling the spoons or chopsticks until the sugar mixture cools and hardens into cotton candy strands.
  8. To eat, wrap the cotton candy strands around a wooden skewer or lollipop stick.

Tips:

  • Be careful when handling the hot sugar mixture.
  • Work quickly to spin the cotton candy strands before the sugar mixture cools and hardens.
  • If the sugar mixture becomes too thick, add a few drops of water.
  • You can add food coloring or flavoring to the sugar mixture to make different colored and flavored cotton candy.

Enjoy!
