DIY Butterfly Costume
Materials:
- Fabric (in desired colors)
- Wire
- Pipe cleaners
- Beads
- Elastic
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Sewing machine (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut out two wing shapes from fabric.
- Sew the two wing shapes together, leaving a small opening at the top.
- Turn the wings right side out and stuff them with wire to keep them stiff.
- Sew the opening at the top of the wings closed.
- Thread elastic or ribbon through the top of the wings to create straps.
- To make the antennae, twist two pipe cleaners together and secure them with a bead at the end.
- Attach the antennae to a headband.
- Wear the wings and antennae to complete your butterfly costume!
Tips:
- Use different colors and patterns of fabric to create a unique butterfly costume.
- Add glitter or sequins to your wings for extra sparkle.
- If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can hand sew the wings together.
- You can also make a butterfly costume out of paper or felt.
- Accessorize your costume with butterfly makeup and jewelry.
