Burlap Curtains Diy

To make your own burlap curtains, you will need:

Burlap fabric
Fabric scissors
Grommets (optional)
Straight pins
Matching natural brown thread

Measure your window to determine the length and width of fabric you will need. Add 6 inches to the length for the hem and 2 inches to the width for each side hem. Cut the fabric to size.

Fold the bottom hem under 3 inches and press with an iron. Fold the hem under again and sew in place using a zigzag stitch.

If you are using grommets, punch holes in the top hem of the curtain, evenly spaced about 6 inches apart. Insert the grommets and follow the manufacturer’s instructions to secure them.

Fold the top hem under 3 inches and press with an iron. Fold the hem under again and sew in place using a zigzag stitch.

Hang your curtains using curtain clips or a rod.

For a no-sew option, you can use fusible binding tape to hem the curtains. Simply follow the instructions on the packaging.
