Copper Countertops Diy

Copper countertops can be a stunning addition to any kitchen, but they can also be expensive. If you’re on a budget, you can make your own copper countertops using a few simple tools and materials.

To make DIY copper countertops, you will need:

  • Copper sheets (16 or 20 oz. thickness is recommended)
  • Contact adhesive
  • Plywood or MDF substrate
  • Dowels
  • Saw
  • File
  • Sander
  • Sealant

Instructions:

  1. Cut the copper sheets to size using a saw.
  2. Sand the back of the copper sheets and the top of the plywood or MDF substrate to ensure a good bond.
  3. Apply contact adhesive to both the back of the copper sheets and the top of the substrate.
  4. Place the copper sheets on top of the substrate and align them carefully.
  5. Use dowels to weigh down the copper sheets until the adhesive dries.
  6. Once the adhesive is dry, trim any excess copper from the edges of the countertop.
  7. Apply a sealant to the copper countertop to protect it from tarnish and staining.

Once your DIY copper countertops are installed, you can enjoy their beauty and durability for years to come.
