To DIY reupholster a chair, you will need:

• Upholstery fabric
• Batting
• Foam (optional)
• Staple gun

Instructions:

1. Disassemble the chair, removing the seat cushion, backrest, and any other upholstered pieces.
2. Remove the old fabric and batting, being careful to preserve the original stitching as much as possible.
3. Cut a new piece of fabric for each upholstered piece, leaving an extra 2-3 inches on all sides.
4. Wrap the fabric around the upholstered piece, pulling it taut and stapling it in place. Start at the center of each side and work your way out to the corners.
5. Fold the excess fabric under the edges and staple it in place.
6. Reassemble the chair.

Tips:

• Use a staple gun with upholstery staples. These staples are longer and stronger than regular staples, and they will help the fabric to stay in place.
• If you are using foam, cut it to size and place it between the fabric and the batting.
• If you are reupholstering a chair with a lot of curves, it may be helpful to use a seam ripper to carefully remove the old fabric and batting. This will help you to preserve the original stitching and ensure that the new fabric fits snugly.
• Once you have stapled the fabric in place, use a staple remover to remove any staples that are crooked or loose.
