Steps:

Mark the location of the fence posts.
Dig holes for the fence posts, about 6 inches deep and 12 inches wide.
Pour gravel into the bottom of the holes.
Set the fence posts in the holes and pour concrete around them.
Let the concrete cure for at least 48 hours.
Cut the fence boards to length.
Attach the fence boards to the fence posts, starting at the top and working your way down.
Use a level to make sure that the fence boards are level.
Nail or screw the fence boards in place.

Tips:

Use pressure-treated wood for the fence posts and boards to make them last longer.
Space the fence boards about 1/4 inch apart to allow for drainage.
Apply a sealant to the fence to protect it from the elements.

Optional:

Add a fence cap to the top of the fence posts to give it a finished look.
Add a decorative trim board to the bottom of the fence to cover the exposed screws or nails.
Paint or stain the fence to match your home or other landscaping features.
