To build a DIY weightlifting platform, you will need:
- 2 sheets of ¾ inch plywood (4×8 feet)
- 2 ¾ stall mats (4×6 feet)
- Wood screws
- Wood glue
- Paint (optional)
- Circular saw
- Drill
- Measuring tape
- Clamps
- Pencil
- Paintbrush (if painting)
Instructions:
- Cut the two sheets of plywood to 4×8 inches.
- Glue the two sheets of plywood together, using wood glue.
- While the glue is drying, place the stall mats on top of the plywood.
- Screw the plywood and stall mats together, using wood screws.
- If desired, paint the platform.
- Place the platform in your desired location and start lifting!
Tips:
- For a more durable platform, use exterior plywood.
- If you are attaching a squat rack to the platform, be sure to cut a hole in the plywood before screwing it down.
- You can also add a layer of rubber flooring to the top of the platform for additional cushioning.
