Diy Ski Rack

Do-it-yourself (DIY) ski racks are a great way to save money and add storage space to your garage or home. There are many different designs available, but they all share some basic components: a sturdy frame, dowels or pegs to hold the skis, and hooks for poles.

To build a simple DIY ski rack, you will need the following materials:

• 1×6 board (48" long)
• 1×4 board (48" long)
• 3/4" dowel (48" long)
• 2-3 coat hooks
• 1 1/8" paddle bit or Forstner bit
• Drill
• Countersink bit
• 3" wood screws
• 2 1/2" wood screws (optional)
• Wood glue
• Stud finder

Instructions:

1. Cut the 1×6 and 1×4 boards to size.
2. Determine the spacing of the dowels. The dowels should be spaced so that each pair of skis has its own dedicated spot.
3. Drill holes for the dowels using the paddle bit or Forstner bit.
4. Apply wood glue to the dowels and insert them into the holes.
5. Screw the dowels in place (optional).
6. Paint or stain your garage ski rack (optional).
7. Add hooks for poles.
8. Mount the ski rack to the wall using 3" wood screws.
9. Load up your new ski rack and enjoy!

Here is a simpler version of the instructions:

1. Cut two pieces of wood, one 1×6 and one 1×4, each 48" long.
2. Drill holes in the 1×6 to hold the dowels. Space the holes so that each pair of skis has its own spot.
3. Glue the dowels into the holes.
