Diy Belly Band

DIY belly bands are a simple and affordable way to extend the life of your maternity or postpartum wardrobe. They can also be used to support your belly during pregnancy or to cover up postpartum belly bulge.

To make a DIY belly band, you will need:

  • 1 yard of stretchy fabric, such as jersey or knit
  • Sewing machine or needle and thread
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape

Instructions:

  1. Measure around the fullest part of your hips and subtract 1 inch. This will be the length of your belly band.
  2. Cut a strip of fabric to the desired length and 10-20 inches high, depending on how wide you want your band to be.
  3. Fold the fabric in half lengthwise with the right sides facing together.
  4. Sew the side seams together using a zig-zag stitch.
  5. Turn the band right side out.
  6. Overlap the ends of the band by 1-2 inches and sew them together.

Your belly band is now complete! You can wear it over or under your clothes.

Here are some tips for making and wearing a DIY belly band:

  • Choose a fabric that is stretchy and comfortable to wear.
  • If you are making a belly band for postpartum wear, choose a fabric that is breathable and absorbent.
  • You can adjust the length of your belly band by overlapping the ends more or less.
  • You can also adjust the width of your belly band by folding the fabric over more or less before sewing the side seams together.
  • To wear your belly band, simply slip it on over or under your clothes. You can adjust the position of the band until it is comfortable and supportive.
