Diy Trash Can Cabinet

To build a DIY trash can cabinet, you will need:

• Wood (plywood or 1x lumber)
• Pocket hole jig and pocket hole screws
• Wood glue
• Edge banding (optional)
• Measuring tape
• Saw
• Drill
• Screwdriver
• Finish nails or screws
• Cabinet pull or knob
• Continuous piano hinge

Instructions:

1. Measure and cut all wood pieces to size.
2. If using edge banding, apply it to all plywood pieces.
3. Drill pocket holes in the ends of the front/back pieces and center divider.
4. Attach the front/back pieces to the side pieces using pocket hole screws and wood glue.
5. Attach the center divider to the front/back pieces using wood glue and brad nails or screws.
6. If using a compost bin with a lip, cut a second center divider that is 3/4" wider and taller than the first divider.
7. Attach the second center divider to the first divider using wood glue and brad nails or screws.
8. Sand all wood pieces to a smooth finish.
9. Stain or paint the wood pieces.
10. Apply a clear coat of polyurethane to protect the finish.
11. Attach the door to the cabinet using the continuous piano hinge.
12. Attach the cabinet pull or knob to the door.

Once the cabinet is complete, you can place your trash cans inside and start using it!
