Diy Floating Wood Shelves

To make DIY floating wood shelves, you will need:

  • Wood for the shelves and cleats (2×2 or 2×4 lumber is a good choice)
  • Wood glue
  • Finish nails or screws
  • A level
  • A stud finder
  • A drill
  • A saw
  • Sandpaper
  • Stain or paint (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cut the wood for the shelves and cleats to size.
  2. Assemble the cleats by gluing and nailing or screwing the two pieces together.
  3. Mark the location of the cleats on the wall, making sure they are level and secured to studs.
  4. Pre-drill holes in the cleats and wall.
  5. Attach the cleats to the wall with screws.
  6. Place the shelves on the cleats and secure them with screws or finish nails.
  7. Sand the shelves and cleats smooth.
  8. Stain or paint the shelves and cleats, if desired.

Once the shelves are dry, you can start decorating them!
