Diy Mash Tun

A DIY mash tun is a simple device that can be used to make all-grain beer. It is essentially a vessel with a false bottom, which allows the liquid wort to be drained off from the grain solids. A mash tun can be made from a variety of materials, but the most common is a cooler.

To make a DIY mash tun from a cooler, you will need:

• A false bottom
• A bulkhead fitting

4. Attach a length of tubing to the ball valve. The tubing should be long enough to reach your boil kettle.
5. Attach a false bottom to the cooler. The false bottom should be raised slightly above the bottom of the cooler.

Once the mash tun is assembled, you are ready to use it. Simply add your crushed grain and hot water to the mash tun and stir to combine. Close the lid and allow the mash to rest for the desired amount of time. Once the mash is complete, open the ball valve and allow the wort to flow into your boil kettle.
