Diy Worm Compost Bin

A DIY worm compost bin is a simple way to compost food scraps and other organic materials at home. It is a great way to reduce your waste and create nutrient-rich compost for your garden.

• Drill
• Shredded newspaper or cardboard

1. Drill 10-15 holes in the bottom of one of the bins. This will allow for drainage.
2. Place the bin with the holes inside the other bin. This will create a tray system to catch any liquid that drains from the compost bin.
3. Add several handfuls of shredded newspaper or cardboard to the bin with the holes. This will serve as the bedding for the worms.
4. Add the worms to the bin.
5. Add a small amount of food scraps to the bin. The worms will eat a variety of food scraps, but avoid giving them meat, dairy, or oily foods.
6. Cover the bin with a lid or piece of cardboard to keep the worms moist and dark.

Place the worm compost bin in a cool, dark place. Check on the bin every few days to add more food scraps and to make sure that the bedding is moist. The worms will produce compost within a few weeks.
