To build a DIY backyard waterfall, you will need:

Choose a location for your waterfall and dig a hole. The hole should be at least 2 feet deeper than the height of your waterfall and 1 foot wider on all sides.
Line the hole with rubber liner and underlayment. Be sure to extend the liner over the edge of the hole by at least 1 foot.
Place rocks and gravel around the edge of the hole to hold the liner in place.
Install the pump in the bottom of the hole and connect it to the hoses.
Place rocks and gravel on top of the liner to create the waterfall. You can be creative with the design, but make sure that the water has a clear path to flow from the top of the waterfall to the bottom.
Connect the hoses to the waterfall spillway and turn on the pump.
Adjust the rocks and gravel as needed to create a waterfall that you are happy with.

Once your waterfall is complete, you can add plants and other decorative elements to create a beautiful and relaxing oasis in your backyard.
