Feral Cat Shelter Diy

Feral cat shelters protect cats from the elements and predators. They can be made from a variety of materials, including plastic bins, coolers, and styrofoam. To make a simple DIY feral cat shelter, you will need:

A large plastic bin or cooler
Straw
A box cutter or exacto knife
A permanent marker
A plastic flowerpot

Instructions:

Cut a hole in the side of the bin or cooler that is large enough for a cat to enter and exit.
Fill the bin or cooler with straw.
Cut a hole in the bottom of the flowerpot and slide it over the entrance hole in the bin or cooler.
Use the permanent marker to mark the entrance hole on the outside of the bin or cooler.
Cut out the entrance hole on the outside of the bin or cooler.
Place the shelter in a safe and sheltered location.

Tips:

Make sure the entrance hole is large enough for a cat to enter and exit comfortably, but not so large that predators can enter.
Place the shelter in a location that is protected from the wind and rain.
Add straw to the shelter regularly to keep it clean and dry.
Monitor the shelter regularly to make sure it is being used and that cats are safe inside.
