DIY Poodle Skirt

Materials:

• Felt fabric (2-4 yards, depending on size)
• Elastic (1-2 inches wide)
• Poodle applique or felt (for the poodle)
• Trim (rikrak, sequins, etc.)
• Fabric glue or sewing machine
• Scissors
• Measuring tape
• Pins

Instructions:

1. Measure the waist of the person who will be wearing the skirt.
2. Cut a piece of elastic that is 2 inches longer than the waist measurement.
3. Cut a circle of felt fabric with a radius that is equal to the desired length of the skirt.
4. Fold the felt circle in half and sew the two sides together, leaving a small opening for the elastic.
5. Insert the elastic into the opening and sew it in place, stretching the elastic as you sew.
6. Cut out a poodle applique or felt from black or white felt.
7. Glue or sew the poodle applique to the front of the skirt.
8. Add trim to the skirt as desired.

Tips:

• For a fuller skirt, use more felt fabric.
• You can also make a poodle skirt without sewing by using fabric glue.
• Get creative with your poodle applique! You can make it any size or shape you want.
• Add other embellishments to your skirt, such as sequins, buttons, or ribbon.
