Diy Floating Shelves Solid Wood

To make DIY floating shelves from solid wood, you will need:

• Solid wood boards (at least 1 inch thick)
• Wood dowels (1/2 inch diameter)
• Wood glue
• Screws

Instructions:

1. Cut the wood boards to the desired length and width.

6. Apply wood glue to the dowels and to the back of the shelves.
7. Clamp the shelves to a flat surface until the glue dries.
8. Once the glue is dry, sand the shelves and apply the desired stain or finish.
9. To mount the shelves to the wall, use a stud finder to locate the studs.
10. Drill pilot holes in the wall at the desired locations for the shelves.
11. Screw the shelves to the wall, using screws that are long enough to reach the studs.

Tips:

• For a more finished look, you can chamfer the edges of the shelves or add a trim piece around the edges.
• If you are using heavy shelves or plan to store heavy items on them, you may want to use additional support brackets.
• Be sure to level the shelves before mounting them to the wall.
