To make a DIY gumball machine costume, you will need:
- A red shirt and pants or skirt
- White, black, and silver felt
- Pom poms (various sizes)
- A headband
- Ribbon
- A hot glue gun
- Scissors or craft cutter
- Heat transfer vinyl (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of cardboard to the size of the shirt and slide it inside to prevent the hot glue from seeping through.
- Use a hot glue gun to attach the pom poms to the shirt in a dense cluster. You can cover the entire shirt or just a portion, as desired.
- Cut a piece of felt into a rectangle for the apron. Attach a piece of ribbon to the top of the apron and tie it around your waist.
- Cut out a circle of silver felt for the coin slot and a smaller circle of black felt for the handle. Glue the circles to the apron.
- Cut out a strip of black felt for the writing on the apron. Glue the letters "25¢" and "Insert Coin" to the strip and then glue the strip to the apron.
- (Optional) Use heat transfer vinyl to cut out a gumball and glue it to the front of the shirt.
- Attach the headband to the pom poms on the top of your head.
You’re now ready to dispense some gumball fun!
