Diy Concrete Planters

To make a simple DIY concrete planter, you will need:

• Portland cement mix
• Water
• A plastic container
• A smaller plastic container (optional)
• A heavy object to weigh down the smaller container (optional)
• Cooking spray (optional)
• Concrete release spray or canola oil (optional)

Instructions:

1. If you are using plastic containers, prep them by spraying the inside of the larger container and the outside of the smaller container with concrete release spray or lightly coating them with canola oil. This will prevent the cement from sticking to the containers.
2. Mix the cement mix and water according to the instructions on the bag. The consistency should be like brownie batter.
3. Pour a layer of concrete into the bottom of the larger container. If you are using a smaller container to create a double-walled planter, place it in the center of the larger container and press it down into the concrete.
4. Pour more concrete into the larger container, filling it to the top. Be sure to tap the container on the ground to remove any air bubbles.
5. If you are using a smaller container, weigh it down with a heavy object to keep it in place.
6. Cover the planter with a plastic sheet and let it cure for 24-48 hours.
7. Once the planter is cured, remove it from the containers and sand down any rough edges.
8. Your planter is now ready to use!

Tips:

• You can add a variety of materials to your concrete mix to create different effects, such as pebbles, sand, or glass beads.
• You can also use different molds to create different shapes and sizes of planters.
• Be sure to wear gloves and eye protection when working with concrete.
