To build a DIY paver patio, you will need:
- Pavers
- Edge restraints
- Sand
- Gravel
- Plate compactor
- Rubber mallet
- Saw (for cutting pavers)
Instructions:
- Choose a location for your patio and mark out the area.
- Remove any existing vegetation and topsoil.
- Dig down 6 inches to create a space for the base.
- Lay down a 4-inch layer of gravel and compact it with a plate compactor.
- Add a 2-inch layer of sand and level it off.
- Install edge restraints around the perimeter of the patio.
- Lay the pavers, starting at one corner and working your way out.
- Tap the pavers into place with a rubber mallet.
- Once all of the pavers are in place, fill the gaps between the pavers with sand.
- Sweep away any excess sand.
Your DIY paver patio is now complete!
